The dandelion has a lot to teach us.

It grows where it wants to grow.

And not even the thickest layer of asphalt can stop it.

Calmly and persistently, it pushes upward—

until the ceiling above cracks open

and it finds the light.

Whether in a meadow, a forest clearing,

or a crack in the sidewalk—

the dandelion grows wherever it feels called to be.

And if someone pulls it out,

it simply grows back—

from a root that can reach more than a meter deep.

It doesn’t give up.

It chooses again.

Right where it was.

Its leaves shift and change depending on where it finds itself.

In dark forest soil, they grow broader, softer, larger.

In the sun, they’re sharper, more defined, smaller in surface.

It adjusts.

To light. To shadow. To circumstance.

Without resistance.

And sometimes,

as a bold little puffball,

it sends its seeds out into the world—

so they, too, can find a place to take root

and become what they were meant to be.

It uses the wind.

And somehow, it even awakens the playful spirit in us humans,

helping its seeds spread far and wide—

with a single breath,

a moment of childlike wonder.

So what can we learn from it?

Maybe not to give up at the first “no.”

Maybe to be more flexible,

more responsive to the world around us.

Maybe even to change paths entirely,

and create something new when the usual route seems blocked.

Maybe…

that real strength isn’t measured in size.

My brushstroke of life:

Be like a dandelion for one day.

Patient.

Adaptable.

Rooted.

Resilient.

Creative.

Take the trait that speaks to you most,

and make it yours.

Just for today.

Be a dandelion.
